Come join our team! We're seeking Weekend Relief Companions!

Want to work FULL TIME in only 3 days per week? Weekend relief companions begin work Friday at 3 pm and end work on Sunday at 3 pm. They work 32 hours in 1 weekend which makes them Full Time Employees with benefits! Enjoy paid time off, medical and dental benefits. 

RHD-MO St. Louis is looking for caring people who want to Share their Life with a person who has a developmental disability, mental illness or other disability that may be a reason to require help and or guidance to live as independent as possible in the community.  Being a Weekend Relief Companion for another is a life style, something that gives back tenfold. Our companions come from all walks of life.As a Weekend Relief Companion companion you receive $10.00/ hour while working, access to free Wi-Fi while in the home and reimbursed mileage.  All training time is compensated. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide companionship and friendship to the person supported.
  • Maintain and accurately account for all of the person's household resources, including possessions (monetary and others) and supplies.
  • Provide support in purchasing groceries and household supplies.
  • Provide support in preparing meals, maintaining a clean, sanitary home, reporting any maintenance needs promptly and managing the general household.
  • Provide needed assistance in taking prescribed medications and documenting as required.  Provide support in reporting any health concerns to physicians, and RHD-Missouri personnel.
  • Provide needed support in personal hygiene and maintenance of a neat and clean appearance.
  • Provide support to the person in pursuing community based interests, including providing transportation when needed.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High School Education (or GED equivalency)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Reliable transportation
  • Vehicle insurance
  • No Felony convictions, some misdemeanor offense may disqualify
