Psychiatric Rehab Specialist (PRS) / Team Lead
  Reports to Assistant Unit Director  
Job purpose
The Psychiatric Rehab Specialist / Team Lead provides supportive services to individuals with mental illness living independently in the community, as well as supervises a team of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Workers and Certified Peer Specialists.  Psychiatric Rehabilitation focuses on building independent adult living skills to gain and maintain independence and reach personal growth potential.  The PRS guides participants to develop skills in the domains of living, working, socializing, and learning.  A PRS/Team Lead must be willing to travel throughout the community daily, and have a working knowledge of community resources throughout the city of Philadelphia.
Duties and responsibilities: 

Supervisory Duties
  • Promote the values of psych rehab, mental health recovery and RHD are being practiced and demonstrated throughout the daily work of the team.
  • Provide supervision and support to Psychiatric Rehabilitation Workers (PRWs) and Certified Peer Specialists (CPSs).  Meet with PRWs at least once every two weeks and CPSs weekly.  Supervision is to be used for the following purposes:
  • Ensure quality service provision.
  • Assist in the managing of challenging situations.
  • Oversee documentation quality and submission in a timely manner.
  • Ensure submission of all billing information as required.
  • Ensure participant chart compliance toward Psych Rehab regulations and standards.
  • Identify rehabilitation goals to support participants with building skills for independent living and community integration activities.
  • Facilitate documentation, psychiatric rehabilitation, community inclusion, and orientation trainings for PRW and CPS staff members.
  • Document and Review Corrective Action with Team Members as coaching tool to improve performance and inform them of policy violations in coordinating with the Assistant Unit Director and Unit Director.
Direct Service and Coordination with External Stakeholders
  • Serve as a member of Team ARRIVE to provide psychiatric rehabilitation services to program participants living independently in the community.
  • Support participants maintain ongoing communication with the many members of their support services to ensure all needs are met.  This includes but is not limited to ICM/RC, landlords, doctors, family and friends:
  • Share recovery-oriented educational materials.
  • Submit daily documentation of services provided and billing activities to supervisor.
  • Attend all trainings as required by regulations and as desired for professional development.
  • Attend weekly clinical meetings.
  • Complete all other assigned tasks as designated by the Clinical Program Manager.
Administrative Duties
In conjunction with the Leadership Team oversee administrative procedures for program management including:
  • Review and approve or reject participant notes for quality assurance daily
  • Track training hours and training plan for team members
  • Respond to emails and phone calls promptly during working hours

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of work experience in mental health direct service, 1 year of which must be work experience in Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services and CPRP certification mush be obtained within 2 years of hire
CPRP Certification
  • Knowledge of recovery principles and tools.
  • Knowledge of Psychiatric Rehabilitation.
  • Ability to utilize the RHD values and Core Values and Principles of Psychiatric Rehabilitation in supervision.
  • Able to communicate in a written and verbal format.
  • Able to document daily activities and recovery goals.
  • Able to role model recovery and hope.
  • Able to hear anecdotal information and reframe in the context of facts and data in an empathic manner.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Able to manage mobile technology independently
  • Able to support and implement RHD and unit values and beliefs.
  • Willing to travel as necessary.
Other Requirements/Certifications
  • Valid driver's license
  • State police clearance
  • Child abuse clearance
  • FBI clearance 
Working conditions
Team ARRIVE is a mobile program.  The Team Lead will be required to meet with participants and team members in the field to provide service delivery or for quality assurance purposes. This may include the need to use public transportation and walking to locations in both warm and cold weather conditions throughout the year. 
Physical requirements
The Team Lead will need to be able to be mobile to travel to participant apartments and have physical capability to do this.  Walking and the ability to carry a laptop or other mobile devices, books, binders or other work items may be needed while traveling in the community.
