 Senior Financial Analyst

  Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst for the Philadelphia Behavioral Health and Housing Division will be responsible for financial budgeting, planning, forecasting, and analysis and reporting such activities.The Analyst will provide the analytics to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvements in financial and operational performance and will assist in implementing processes to drive operational efficiencies.
Essential Duties and Functions
  • Prepare divisional and program annual operating budgets including revenue, expenses, capital expenditures and other budget components
  • Create new budgets for proposed services and expansions
  • Analyze actual operating results and identifies key financial and operating opportunities; quantifies and reports actual results versus forecast
  • Analyze and report standard key performance indicators
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of budget to actual variances to determine opportunities to positively impact financial performance and report same to DFO
  • Propose and assist local management in implementing solutions and opportunities for cost reductions and increased profitability
  • Provide training and education on relevant financial matters to program staff
  • Develop financial modeling, financial statement analysis, reporting and ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives and/or new business
  • Work with Revenue Cycle Manager regarding reimbursement, revenue assurance and other revenue cycle functions as needed
  • Review payroll change forms for appropriateness and approve
  • Complete all other duties as assigned
Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent work experience, plus 5 or more years of related experience
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels of staff
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, intermediate knowledge of Word recommended
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to utilize multiple sources of information to determine solutions
  •  Self-motivated with the ability to apply and continually develop technical skills
  • Ability to take initiative and accept ownership and responsibility for assigned projects
  • Ability to establish priorities, coordinate work activities, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, open work environment
  • Ability to work in fast-paced open environment with accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Ability to travel within the Divisional geographic area required
