Job Description

Resources for Human Development is a comprehensive, nonprofit, social service organization. RHD currently oversees and supports more than 160 locally managed human service programs in 15 states. RHD's mission is to empower people as they build the highest level of independence possible, building better lives for themselves, their families and their communities.

Resources for Human Development is seeking to hire Direct Support Professionals to work directly with individuals dually diagnosed with mental illness and developmental disabilities. 

Now opening in Beaver County in the Beaver Falls area!

Job Responsibilities:

  • DSP's are responsible for the support and enhancement of the quality of life of individuals served, by assisting in day-to-day activities that promote positive outcomes.
  • Duties include, but are not limited to, providing instruction, assistance and role modeling in life skill areas of leisure time, financial management, medication monitoring, crisis management, accessing community resources, community engagement, shopping and vocational development. Personal care is also needed at times.

Starting salary range: $11.25- $11.75/hr.  (More in some locations). 

Job Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS/GED required.
  •  Prior experience working with individuals with challenging behaviors is desired.
  • A valid Driver's License is required. Prior experience/education in a social services field is preferred, but program specific training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of the impact of trauma on the well-being of the individuals receiving services, as well as the impact on staff well-being preferred.

Full, part time and on-call (as needed) positions available. Must be able to pass criminal background check.
