Job Description

This position is located in the Lehigh Valley area, specifically in Nazareth, PA. This is  approximately 60 miles north of Philadelphia, PA.

G.R.O.W.T.H. stands for Gaining Respect and Opportunity with Teaching and Hope. G.R.O.W.T.H. provides licensed day programming as well as unlicensed home and community habilitation for individuals with developmental disabilities and Autism.

The program is in need of 2 full-time Direct Support Professionals.  Full-time positions are 37.5 hours a week, Monday-Friday. A mandatory staff meeting will be held once a month outside of your normal working hours. All staff are required to attend all mandated trainings and staff meetings. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

The position requires the need to be physically active, including but not limited to, walking long distances, swimming, playing sports, and driving.The majority of the day will be assisting, teaching, modeling positive behaviors, mentoring an individual, and crisis management all while in the community. At times, the preferred candidate will need to provide significant behavioral interventions. The chosen candidate will need to care for all physical and emotional needs of the individual including assisting with completing employment and volunteer tasks, toileting, medication administration and assistance with meals. The preferred candidate must be able to work independently and in a professional manner while interacting with community and program members. The preferred candidate must uphold the RHD values at all times.

This position requires the chosen candidate to be able to show great patience, empathy, flexibility and compassion.


  • HS/GED required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A significant amount of verbal and written communication will need to occur on a daily basis
  • A valid Driver's License and ability to safely drive on a daily basis
  • Basic computer skills in order to  successfully complete time cards, medication training and the electronic health record
  • Prior experience not required, but an applicant with work experience in the Mental Health, Intellectual Development Disabilities, Autism or CNA, is preferred
