Behavior Specialist Consultant  - Part Time  
Program Summary: Children's Services has a BHRS Specialty Model that consists of a part time BSC (Behavioral Specialist Consultant) that is assigned to work directly in the school setting.
Children's Servoces is seeking a part time Behavior Specialist Consultant  (BSC)  to work in the Philadelphia area. The BSC serves as a liaison between the school and family in order to ensure that skills are being transferred across settings. The BSC also works alongside the TSS (Therapeutic Support Staff) in the classroom setting on interventions that target the child's social, emotional, and behavioral needs in order to promote a healthy learning environment.                                           
Job Summary:  Provision of behavior planning, clinical supervision and direction of BHRS clinical cases. Development of treatment plan, goals and methods of intervention for the client and recommendations made in conjunction with family and team members.  Supervision of group TSS staff in the school daily as it relates to interventions. Clinical casework in the school and community, consultation with school, family members, and clinical team (inter- and intra-agency) to implement ongoing behavioral interventions.  Conduct quarterly (minimum) school team meetings. Complete and submit all documentation required for insurance approvals on a weekly basis.

Essential Duties and Functions
  •  Conduct initial team meeting with all relevant team members. 
  • Assess behavioral needs of client in conjunction with family and team. 
  • Develop individualized behavioral plan for client according to COSP guidelines.
  • Conduct weekly site visits to develop/practice interventions, monitor progress of plan.
  • Provide ongoing consultation with family and team on clinical issues,
  • Monitor coordination of services for client/family.
  • Provide one hour of clinical and administrative group and individual supervision to TSS assigned to school on weekly basis and/or as seen necessary by the BSC1 and/or Director.
  • Participate in annual and all periodic evaluations for TSS assigned to
  • Attend clinical individual supervision and group supervision once a month; attend intra-agency staff meetings as directed by supervisor
  • Attend all trainings as required by State and Managed Care guidelines and other
    relevant continuing education as directed by supervisors.
  • Complete all progress notes for every encounter with client and submit every Monday by 10am. Deadline may change due to holidays and exceptions will only be approved by the supervisor and program director.
  • Maintain all client information/documentation in client chart.
  • Create, complete, and monitor compilation of documents to be sent to funding agency for approval (MA 97, Plan of Care, Treatment Plans, Evaluation) in a timely manner and check for accuracy and completion.
  • Provide emergency clinical services for caseload as necessary.
  • Provision of mobile, individual/family therapy as directed by supervisor
A Psychologist with current Pennsylvania licensure.
If not licensed, must possess a Master's Degree from an accredited university in a clinical mental health discipline such as: Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Psychiatric Nursing, and/or Marriage and Family therapy.  For a degree to count as a mental health degree, the degree must contain at least twelve (12) credit hours in core behavioral health coursework. 
A minimum of eight (8) hours of training in behavior analysis/modification,
prior to hire.
RHD Passive Restraint Policy - RHD has a "hands-off" policy. When a client is in crisis which may pose a harm to themselves and/or others, please refer to the crisis plan identified in the treatment plan.  
Two (2) years verified post-Master's experience providing mental health treatment to children, and at least one (1) year experience using behavior analysis/modification techniques.

Clearances: Verification date within 60 days of Hire

1.         Child Abuse Clearance (updated every 5 years)
2.         Criminal Clearance (updated every 5 years)
3.         FBI Clearance (updated every 5 years)
